One of the big questions that we’re often asked is, “What tool do you use to do ___?”, so we’ve decided to share all of our favorite resources that help us run a successful business. Be sure to bookmark this page, so you’re able to refer back to it.

Please do not invest in a product or service unless you feel like it will help you accomplish your goals.

List Building:

An email provider is different than gmail or even the email through your domain. This is the email provider that will allow you to build your list of ideal customers. You’ll want to give a “Freebie” in exchange for your ideal customers name and email address. Your Freebie should be something of value – like a free report, checklist, printable, video series, teleclass, etc. It’s something they can get instant access to when they visit your website.

Before you can start list building, you’ll need to choose an email provider. We use and highly recommend Active Campaign. It’s an affordable way to build your email list, but also has many advanced features that allow you to automate your email marketing.

Having an established look or “brand” for your business is important. However, you don’t have to invest a lot of money to create that branded look. To create your own color palette, click here to find the psychology behind colors, so you can make sure you’re sending the message you want. Then, go to Design Seeds and start exploring lots of fun color combinations. Choose 4-6 colors that work well together and establish those for your branded-look.

You’ll eventually want a logo, but it’s absolutely possible to start your business {and make money} before you have a set logo. If you’re ready to get a logo, then there are affordable options via Etsy or 99Designs.

Lots of people look at our iBloom brand and say, “Oh, I want that!” Well, the reality is that the look of our brand took many years to establish. We didn’t start with this. So, let me assure you that your brand can develop over time. There is no reason to invest thousands of dollars in a brand, if you’re just getting started.

Your website is the MOST important piece of your business, especially if you have an online business. This is the hub of your business.

If you want a professional to design your website, then we recommend these Inner Circle Members:

  • If you’re new to business and want to create your first website, then we recommend Camille Lawson’s Launch Plan.
  • If you have an established business and are looking to upgrade or build a new site, then we recommend Lisa Boyd & her team. They built our iBloom Site and we had an AMAZING experience. Lisa is a technical guru and was able to do just about every idea we had.

If you’re trying to run your business on a shoe string budget and can’t invest in a designer right now, then here are some affordable tools that can help you create a website.

  • We recommend that you have a self-hosted WordPress website.
  • We purchase all of our website domains from GoDaddy.
  • Since you’re doing a self-hosted website, you’ll want to secure hosting for your website from a company like HostGator. You’ll probably need hosting for just one website, so their Hatchling Plan will work great!
  • LeadPages is one of our new favorite tools because you can easily start list building and even selling products WITHOUT having a beautifully designed website. It’s easy to use and affordable. It’s a great tool for creating landing pages.
  • Web Support Team is a fantastic resource for helping with your ongoing technical needs related to your website, email provider, plus so much more. This is an affordable way to have a technical team help you every month.

Shopping Cart:

PayPal offers a great, simple merchant account, if you’re selling just a few products or services.

SamCart is the shopping cart that we use at iBloom. It’s a great affordable option. And, we LOVE the upsell features.

Web Support Team is a fantastic resource for helping you set-up your shopping cart.

Social Media:

Social Media is an AMAZING way to connect with your ideal customers and position yourself as their go-to person. You don’t need to be on every platform, but you do want to be utilizing the 1-2 platforms where your ideal customers are hanging out.

  • Social Media Checklists: Wondering where to start when it comes to social media? Wishing you had some kind of template that would help guide you on a daily basis? If so, look no further.
