When I look at this picture, I see a young woman filled with hopes, dreams, excitement and a deep, deep love for God. These were the days that were filled with friends, freedom, full-time ministry, and adventure. Days of planning youth retreats, speaking at youth retreats and writing. Days where I was told that I was making a difference. Days where I saw lives being changed. And days where I was told that my future was extremely bright. And then, something happened along the way. How to Create a Personal Growth Plan

Several months ago, I was at an event with John Maxwell and he shared a story from his early 20s when his mentor asked him, “What is your plan for growth?” When it was clear that John didn’t have a plan for growth, his mentor goes on to say, “Growth is not an automatic process. If you’re going to grow, then you’ll have to do so intentionally.” Those words instantly stung. Of course, I wanted to grow in many areas of my life, but what was my plan for growth? I love inspirational movies that motivate me to action. I was reminded of this over the weekend when I was having a girls getaway with my mom and sister-in-law. We watched War Room again and by the end the only thing I wanted to do was spend quality time with God in prayer. What we watch influences us, whether we realize it or not. Taking a Personal Retreat

Do you ever feel like you just need to get away and recharge? Me too! In fact, this year one of my goals is to take at least two personal retreats per year. This is simply time away from the busyness of my everyday life and responsibilities to connect with God, invest in myself, and make necessary life and business adjustments.
