Top 8 Reasons Why Your Business Needs Social Media

8Reasons_SMIt’s no surprise today that more and more businesses are not only seeing the value that social media can and will add to their business, but they are also realizing just how important social media is to their online success. For your business, it’s not a question of if but when you should start getting social.

Truth of the matter is, your business needs to be social and here are my top 8 reasons why:

1)      Connect With Your IDEAL Client:

More and more people today are getting very active on social media and what’s even better is that these active users are providing a plethora of information about who they are, what they like, what they don’t like, etc. There has never been a better time to connect with your ideal client!

2)      Your Clients Want To Connect With YOU:

Yes, your clients want to connect with YOU! They want to get to know the face behind the business. They want to know YOU as a person. They want to be in community with you! The more you build this and allow them in, the more they will want to do business with you!

3)      Social Media Provides Solutions:

Have you noticed that more and more people are asking questions on social media? Not only are they Googling their questions, but they are asking their friends and families for recommendation, ideas, referrals, etc. Not only does this give you GREAT insight into your ideal client, but the more active you are, the more you might be recommended as the answer to someone’s question!

4)      It’s Cost Effective:

Social media gives you the business owner the opportunity to build a brand awareness like NEVER before. Prior to social media, businesses had to pay a pretty penny for advertising, TV and radio spots, etc. But today, for just a few dollars a day, you can create a brand awareness for your business! You have the opportunity reach millions of people by simply being active on social media!

5)      Referrals:

I don’t know about you, but when I’m looking for someone that can help me with a question I have, an issue, etc., I ALWAYS ask for referrals on social media! Need a house cleaner? Let me ask my social media friends who they have used and recommended. Need a pediatrician? Who have my friends used and loved? Social media WILL provide referrals for your business!

6)      Customer Service is EVERYTHING:

More and more people are looking to social media to have their customer service needs met by businesses. And, quite honestly, many of them are not doing it well. You have a unique opportunity to really shine online as you help current and future clients with their questions about your products and/or services.

7)      Research:

Social media can help you learn more about your ideal clients! Not only can you ask some great questions on your platforms, but you can see how your ideal client is interacting with your competitor and how your competitor is responding. It’s NEVER been easier to gain a REALLY good understanding of what makes your ideal client tick!

8)      Competition:

Do you know who your competition is? Do you know what they are doing right? What they are doing wrong? What you can improve upon so that your business shines online? Again, social media gives you this opportunity to see, learn and improve upon what your competition is doing!

Maybe you like the idea of social media but quite honestly, it stresses you out. Trying to learn everything about every platform gives you more of a headache than a desire to move forward with it.
