Lunchbox Worthy Christmas Snacks

ChristmasSnacks2These great lunchbox worthy Christmas snacks will have your child squealing with delight and the other kids wishing they were part of your fun family! I have three grown kids, two young men and a young woman. Once I started including these as healthy Christmas snacks in their lunchboxes, they requested them every year. Maybe I need to include them in a special love package to them now!

Reindeer PB & J Sandwich

Desired bread, sliced diagonally

Peanut butter, Nutella or Almond Butter

Jelly or Local Honey

Pretzel sticks

M & M’s

Spread the Almond butter on the cut bread. Lay the other piece on top. Insert two pretzel sticks between the slices on the long side of the sandwich. These are the antlers for the reindeer face. Put two brown M & M’s for eyes and a red one for the nose.  Make at least two for your child and two more for them to share!

Apple Smilies

Apple slices

Peanut butter, Nutella or Almond Butter

Mini marshmallows

Core and slice an apple. Squeeze some lemon or lime juice on each slice keep them fresh until lunch. Spread one side of each slice with peanut butter, Nutella or almond butter. Place several mini-marshmallows on half of the apple slices. Place the other apple slices on the marshmallow slices with the “butter” slice down. Give them a little squeeze so it looks like a mouth with teeth. So fun!

Snow Pea Tree

This one is easier to do at home. Wash a bag of snow peas. Place some of them on a plate to look like a Christmas tree. Cut a slice of cheese into a star shape and place on “top” of the tree. Use a few pretzel sticks for the base of the tree. Your child will have fun eating this healthy festive snack.

Now that you have the hang of it, see what healthy holiday snacks you can think of! Maybe your kids even have some ideas!
