Let Fall Bring New Beginnings

Next week is the official start of my favorite season. I just have to be the first to tell you, “Happy Fall Y’all!” I like everything about autumn: the crisp air, wearing boots and sweaters, the colorful leaves, pumpkins, apples and gourds…I could go on and on!

But, fall also represents new beginnings to me. Maybe this began as a child in school and continued on as a teacher, but fall is the time of year I am inspired to try new things. I often want to redecorate my house or overhaul my organizing systems. Fall is the season that prompts me to look at all areas of my life and evaluate how things are going.

At iBloom, we know how important it is to pause, reflect and evaluate your life, both personal and business. In fact, we have a place in our iBloom Life & Business Planner where you can write down what’s going well, what’s not going well and what needs to change each month. You don’t have to wait for your favorite season to make tweaks in your life. Each month is a new beginning!

How do you approach new beginnings? Do you get excited about the possibility of a fresh start or does the thought of making changes, even subtle ones, bring you stress?

Ways to handle and prepare for new beginnings:

  • Spend time reflecting, praying and journaling about the things in your life that are working and need to stay the same, things that need to be tweaked or areas to be totally re-done. How are your finances? And what about your relationships? Remember, you don’t have to stay where you are. Be open to change!
  • Share your goals or plans with an accountability partner, coach, spouse or other trusted person. Or, write them down so you can review them often. There is something powerful about getting your plans on paper or saying these ideas out loud to someone else. Use the power of your words to help you move forward.
  • You may want to put implementing new things on hold if you’re already tired or overloaded with other tasks or projects. And don’t try to change ten things at once. Begin with the most urgent need and make those changes before moving on to the next. Allow yourself grace when reflecting and evaluating your life – this may not be the time to start something new!
  • Pray for focus, discipline and perseverance to stay the course when entering a season of new beginnings. Whether it’s sticking to your budget or cleaning out your closet, God will give you the strength to stick to your plan.

Fall may not be your favorite season or even the time of year that inspires you to complete new things. Regardless, I challenge you to use this time of moving from summer to fall to reflect on how things are going in your world. I truly want you to love your life, especially during my favorite season.

Since I started this blog telling you how much I love fall, I want to share another blog about this season. Click here to find ways to celebrate fall: https://ibloom.co/blog/10-ways-celebrate-fall/
