Dreaming Big, Praying Fervently, and Trusting God

Has something ever happened and you immediately knew that it would be a defining moment in your life?

Well, I had that very moment last night.

Let me start by giving you a little back story.  I recently started reading, The Circle Maker:  Praying Circles Around Your Biggest Dreams and Greatest Fears by Mark Batterson.  This book is transforming my prayer life.  He says, “The primary problem:  Most of us don’t get what we want because we don’t know what we want.  Here’s the secondary problem:  Most of us don’t get what we want because we quit circling.  We give up too easily.  We give up too soon.  We quit praying right before the miracle happens.”

So, I’ve been asking God to show me the ONE big thing we’re supposed to be praying for iBloom. Our team is on a mission to inspire and empower every woman in the world to live a life she truly loves and ultimately to live a life that honors God.  So, what ONE thing could we pray that would allow this mission to further come to fruition?

God made our ONE thing very clear this week as I received numerous emails from people whose lives and families are being radically changed as a result of participating in the one-year iChoose2 Love My Life journey.  This one-year journey is defined in our new book, iChoose2 Love My Life: A One-Year Journey toward Living a Life You Love.  This simple book helps you assess where you are, define where you want to be, and then bridges the gap so that your dream becomes a reality.

This iChoose2 Love My Life book will be the tool God uses to allow our mission to become a reality.   God will use this book to change lives, families, communities, and even nations.  We’re already seeing the transformation.

Our ONE big thing is to sell 1,000,000,000 copies of our iChoose2 Love My Life Book.

Did you know that 95% of books don’t sell 5,000 copies?  This ONE thing is SO big that only God could perform such a miracle.  When this prayer is answered, there will be NO doubt that it was ALL God.  He does and will continue to receive all the praise.

So, back to last night.

Our iBloom team gathered last night for our annual photo shoot, dinner, and then a time of prayer.  We had a wonderful time together, but the defining moment came when I shared our ONE thing with them and then challenged each of us to spend the next 21 days (through the end of February) praying for this ONE thing.

I introduced this map as a reminder of our ONE big thing:

Then, we gathered around and prayed for our ONE big thing.  Shew!  I wish you could have heard the prayers because most were for YOU, YOUR family, and YOUR community.  Something shifted last night.  It was definitely a defining moment in my life and the history of our organization.  We’re laser focused and celebrating because God is doing something extraordinary.

I’m SO glad my Mom was able to capture this image.  Here’s half of our team praying:

You see, we’ve been praying for LOTS of things for many years, but this ONE thing allows all of those other things to come to fruition.  For instance, we tithe 10% for each book sold.  This tithe goes toward our iHope fund that anonymously blesses those in need and supports many ministries near and dear to our hearts.  When we sell 1 million copies of the book, that will be $1,000,000,000 in our iHope fund.  🙂

I can’t wait for God to show His extraordinary power!  Thank you for partnering with us on this incredible journey!

  1. That’s so awesome. Thanks for sharing. Examples of faith are so important. You ladies definitely walk the talk!

  2. This post is a blessing to me, Kelly. First, it is a great leadership example of faith. We should all be encouraged to really dream BIG and believe God for GREAT, BIG things in our lives!

Secondly, it confirms for me that I need to write my book, and that I need to make it a priority. There is something powerful business-wise and ministry-wise about having a central focus for what we represent and for the transformation that we provide, something tangible and visible to refer to as God’s leading and direction for our services.

Thanks to you and to the iBloom team for all you do!
