Celebrate Friendships

“Friendships multiply joys and divide griefs.” H.G. Bohn.

In a few weeks I’m attending my 40th High School Reunion. I will see friends I haven’t seen in years. We will laugh, tell stories and may even shed a few tears as we recall memories and catch up on our lives. September is the official Friendship Month, but I couldn’t wait until then to celebrate and honor my friendships!

One of the ways I love to celebrate my friends is to send scriptures and/or quotes in cards or emails. I want to let my friends know how much I cherish and value them. I’ve listed a few of my favorites below for you to use with your friends. For more ideas on how to nurture your friendships, click here: https://ibloom.co/blog/how-to-nurture-your-friendships/

Scriptures and Quotes to celebrate friendships:

“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one.”  C.S. Lewis

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”   John 15:12-15

‎”Friendship is a sheltering tree.” Samuel Coleridge

“Love one another with brotherly affection. Out do one another in showing honor.”   Romans 12:10

“A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.” Unknown

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”   Proverbs 17:17

‎”A friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the best things you can be.” Douglas Pagels

“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”  Proverbs 27:17

I am grateful for the old and new friendships in my life. I love doing life with these special women who have come alongside me through the years. How about you? Do you have a favorite verse or quote to share about friendships? Share in the comment section below.
