I am asked all the time what a Life Coach is. I tell people I help others assess where they are and where they’d like to be. I give them the accountability, encouragement, and insight into how to make their ideas/goals a reality. I help them realize all the choices they have, even when circumstances look bleak!
That’s one of the main messages I wanted to pass down to my 2 daughters and now to my clients; we all have choices! Everyday we decide whether to choose joy, gratitude, and contentment, along with many other things. We wake up with that power within us! Believe me, I know how hard that can be when our lives are filled with pain, fear, and difficult circumstances.
April 16th marks the 1-year anniversary of the death of one of our greatest iBloom supporters, Bill Thorne. Bill’s life ended much too early, but he showed all those around him the act of choosing, even during a hard and painful battle with cancer. Bill was one of the first participants of our 40-day journey, “iChoose2 Live A Life I Love!”. Bill’s experience had a major effect on him and changed the way he lived the rest of his days.
While going through the daily iChoose2 statements, Bill decided he still had control over many things, even though cancer was ravishing through his body. He decided that while there were many things he couldn’t control, he could make choices to live a life that would bring him joy and peace! The iChoose2 message is something Bill desperately wanted others to experience, which is one of the reasons the iBloom Team turned the 40-day journey into a 1-year experience!
Bill Thorne leaves a big legacy! I only knew Bill personally for 2 years and much of that time he was sick and dealing with pain. I remember he would tell Kelly Thorne Gore, his daughter, to let me know he was praying for my migraines. In the midst of his greatest pain he continued to think of others! He continued to serve and help others even when he was weak and his body was failing!
As I was writing my part of our book, “iChoose2 Love My Life!”, I thought of Bill. I thought of him looking down on me as I often struggled to come up with the right words. I thought of his contagious smile as I often lacked the confidence in conveying my heart to our readers. I thought of him rooting us on as we stepped out and wrote a book that we knew would impact so many people! As we continue to pray over our vision of selling 1,000,000 copies of the book, I know this wouldn’t surprise Bill; he knew how this message changed his life and would trust God to take care of the details!
So, as we all remember Bill Thorne and the different ways he touched us, I continue to thank him for believing in the iBloom mission… we will never forget our biggest fan and follower…
