It is a fact that every single year the number one thing on people’s new year’s resolution list in the United States is to lose weight. For some reason the thought of being a smaller version of ourselves just never seems to go away. I’m not positive of all the traits that belong to the whopping 8 percent of the population that actually follow through and find success at the end of the year. However, I do know one thing – they had a plan. They didn’t just wake up on December 31, 2015 thirty pounds lighter eating the exact same things and exercising less than they had in 2014.
If you feeling a little overwhelmed with the thought of picking or sticking to a new diet, making the grocery lists, going to the store and then spending hours in the kitchen preparing recipes you are not sure you will even like; do this first, try listening to your body! I know it sounds a little weird but start paying attention to how your body feels and responds to the food you eat. Become Mindful. Be aware of what you eat, why you eat and when you eat. Often when you know you have to write down what you are eating you will make a healthier choice. Monitor yourself to see what foods give you energy and which ones make you want to nap all afternoon on the couch. Keep a food/mood/activity journal. Once you see a pattern in your eating habits you can pick more of the foods that give you a boost and less of the ones that require the snooze button. To see the journal I use click here.

Hello! I am Kimberly Vallee-Pierre the founder of Kimberly Kate and a Certified Health Coach. I started my healthy living journey back in 2010. I was borderline diabetic, I couldn’t remember the last time I felt good and I continuously binge ate. By taking small practical steps I was able to beat my food addiction, lose 65 pounds and reverse my pre diabetic diagnosis. Today I am healthy, I feel great and I have learned what foods fuel my body. I don’t eat perfectly all the time, but, I strive to make the best choice available. I want nothing more than to help you do the same. Are you ready to live the healthy life of your dreams? Find out more about me here.
