As your Life Coach….I give you permission to play!! It’s summertime, after all!! We get so into the work mode that we forget that it’s okay – REALLY OKAY – to just play. You know – fun, amusement, joy, delight – the absence of seriousness.
Yes…of course we all have responsibilities to address and things that must get done. So to help you do something fun and playful everyday, here are THREE things to do each day that will help you be more playful this summer. Remember – do all three everyday!!
- Take a picture of something that makes you happy or you want to remember or just because. Use your phone – it’s so easy!!
- Find something to laugh about. A big belly laugh is best but even a smile or a giggle is good medicine for our soul.
- Do a playful activity – dance, sit in the kids’ wading pool, play a game, hit a baseball, splash in the water, buy or pick flowers, eat a popsicle, send a text to a friend, cook something on the grill, watch a movie outside, go to a concert in the park, watch a thunderstorm, paint or color with crayons, use chalk to draw on the driveway, sneak up on someone with a squirt gun, find shapes in the clouds, watch a girlie movie, make lemonade and sit outside and taste it – you get the picture.
As you do three playful things each day, you will find yourself relaxing more, smiling more, and delighting in life more.
